You might still be coming down from your sugar high from Easter, or just had a blow-out over the weekend. Your usual health routine has been kicked to the curb and you ate an entire family-size bar of chocolate after 3 slices of pizza. That’s totally cool – there’s no need to beat yourself up about it, we’ve all been there. Rather than skipping meals and over-compensating with a juice cleanse, here’s some wallet-friendly ways that are kinder to your mind and body. Draw a line under it, and move on with my favourite tried-and-tested tips:
  1.   Kill sweet cravings

Savoury breakfasts are a great way to get blood sugar under control. Starting your day off without the sweet stuff often means fewer cravings later in the day. Try kicking things off with some scrambled eggs, avocado and a sprinkle of chilli to kick your metabolism into overdrive.

  2. Detox with Dandy

It’s tempting to think that signing up to a 10 day juice cleanse will solve your post-binge guilt, but know that they usually offer up a LOT of natural sugar (see above!). I love to drink this Dandy Chai instead – it’s caffeine free and makes an excellent coffee substitute. It comes with heaps of health benefits too: Dandelion detoxifies the liver by breaking down toxins. It also has anti viral properties, and decreases inflammation. The Chai spices offer up some extra goodness which I love to de-bloat and detox.

Kintra Foods Dandy Chai is available in convenient packs of 32 tea bags (90g) or 150g jars of loose-leaf style.
Star Anise – used for treating digestive issues like abdominal cramps, bloating, constipation, indigestion and stomach ache.
    Ginger – anti inflammatory properties
Cinnamon – Loaded with antioxidants and stabilises blood sugar.
Nutmeg – Strong anti bacterial and aids digestion.
Cardamom – Traditional medicine uses cardamom as a digestive stimulant.
Cloves – used for the prevention of toxicity from pollutants.
  3. Sweat it out

If you’re feeling bloated or your digestive system has slowed in response to all that food, moving your body and encouraging a little sweat will help to release toxins and get things moving again. Think infrared sauna, Bikram yoga, a run in the park – anything that will encourage a clear-out of your sweat glands.

3 wallet-friendly ways to detox after a blow-out

These are my favourite ways to restore balance after a bit of indulgence. Remember life is all about balance!
